The Nuzlocke Adventures of Lilith: Polished Crystal

Years ago, some madlad played Pokemon Ruby- Except he played with two self imposed rules:

Simple on the surface, but hard as all hell; the dude wiped at Steven Stone, making him lose a game that is... impossible to lose. While originally called Ruby Hard Mode (or Pokemon Hard Mode), it gained the name Nuzlocke due to a Nuzleaf named... Locke.

Nuzlockes became a popular challenge and still are popular to this day; even some romhacks include a built in option to start a Nuzlocke Challenge with even more simple but insane rules, like no items in battle or using set mode. Even the death of a starter is the end of a run if you aren't paying attention.

I digress. This is an ongoing adventure about friendship, loss, triumph and defeating evil with the power of love and this angry rat I found- played out in Rangi442's Polished Crystal Rom Hack, which features an somewhat altered Dex, newer NPCs from HGSS, and a few surprises. As a note, the events are a bit exaggerated for dramatization purposes, but does not reflect any in game rom hack effects.

After activating the Nuzlocke option in this hack, I set the clock, named my trainer, you know, boring stuff. Heading out of the house, I'm greeted by Lyra, who happens to also be heading to Elm's lab- because, nowhere else for us to go, I guess. We stroll in and Elm asks me raise a rare Pokemon and to visit his friend on Route 30. Sure, why not?

While I didn't screen shot the chosing of my starter, I will go ahead and say is was a Cyndaquil which I named Jonathan... after Jonathan Joestar. Yes the JoJo brainrot is still strong five years later. Moving on. Lyra asks me to battle, we win, and off we go.

Me and Jonathan took a lovely stroll through Route 29, Cherrygrove City, and onto Mr. Pokemon's house. Mr. Pokemon gives me an egg, and who else happened to be there but Professor Oak? So I also got a Pokedex- which I got going for me, which is nice.

As I'm leaving Mr. Pokemon's house, Prof. Elm calls me in a panic. Turns out someone stole a Pokemon and I, having experience with my own panic attacks in the past, I kept him on the phone while running back and run into some kid with a Totodile; unfortunately, I hung up to battle said kid, who we.
